The City Attorney of Los Angeles wears a number of hats. The official is the city's advocate in court; the legal advisor to the mayor, the City Council and government agencies; and the chief prosecutor of misdemeanors in the city. In an era of tight budgets and difficult choices, the City Attorney must determine priorities in pursuing criminal and civil cases and in representing such agencies as the Los Angeles Police Department.
Join us for a conversation with Mike Feuer, candidate for City Attorney of Los Angeles (Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich was also invited but was unavailable). Please invite your friends and colleagues.
Mike Feuer is a former member of the state Assembly where he chaired the Judiciary Committee and wrote a number of important bills in areas such as consumer protection, public safety and environmental protection. He also served on the L.A. City Council, where he tightened gun laws and improved constituent services.
Mike will be interviewed by Jeffrey Kaye, a member of Bend the Arc’s Southern California regional council. Jeffrey, a writer and author, is a former broadcast journalist.
