What does it Mean to be a Neighbor?

What does it mean to be a neighbor?
September 9, 2012 -
8:00am to 6:30pm
St. Cece's Pub in Corktown
1426 Bagley
48216 Detroit , MI

Join us to for an engaging day of interactive story sharing, art, and exploration about the neighborhoods we came from, live in, and want to create. We aim to bring together a diverse array of Detroiters: new & established folks from a wide variety of backgrounds who live, work, or play in the greater Downtown / Midtown corridor.  Through expanding our connections and understanding of our neighbors, we can better share ideas and resources for collaborative community building.

Parking is available at the parking lot in front of St. Cece's at the corner of Bagley and Trumbell.

The event is FREE, with a light breakfast and lunch, courtesy of Bend the Arc's Detroit Community Leadership Initiative.

Registration is required.  Space is very limited, so make sure to save a seat at the table by booking a ticket (above).  It's gonna be a lot of fun, and we hope you'll join and encourage a neighbor you'd like to get to know better to come.

Please contact us at detroitneighborday@gmail.com with any questions, special needs, or suggestions, or if your plans change and you can't make it.  Also, please let us know if you have any food related requirements (veggie/vegan, gluten free, kosher, etc.).  We are happy to accommodate, so just let us know what you need to fully enjoy the day.

This event has been developed over a series of conversations and gathering of community leaders, new Detroiters, entrepreneurs, social justice advocates, and many more, lead by Bend the Arc's Detroit Community Leadership Initiative.  In particular, the team of passionate volunteers behind Bridging 8 Mile, have been instrumental through generously sharing their collective wisdom in bringing people from wide variety of backgrounds together to strengthen our social fabric.
