Alea Gage is a city planner with experience in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Her current work at PolicyLink involves building the capacity of cross-cutting regional consortia to address segregation and racialized concentrated poverty. She was part of the Bay Area's first Jeremiah cohort in 2007 and has been involved in both Progressive Jewish Alliance and Bend the Arc ever since. For her action project, she coordinated a trip for Jeremiahs and other young social justice-oriented Jews to New Orleans with Jewish Funds for Justice. Since then, she's been a leader with the Economic Justice Working Group and has actively worked to expand PJA’s, and then Bend the Arc’s, base of active members. She also co-chaired the Tikkun ha Medinah Committee that produced the Bend the Arc 2012 California Voter Guide. Alea spent five years in the field as a city planner before returning to graduate school at UC Berkeley.
