Igor Tregub is an engineer with the Department of Energy and has completed assignments with the agency’s Nuclear Nonproliferation and Intergovernmental Affairs divisions in Washington, DC. He serves as a Berkeley Rent Stabilization board commissioner and chair of its Budget and Personnel Committee. He is the California co-chair of the Young Elected Officials Network, curriculum co-chair on the Advisory Board of the New Leaders Council’s San Francisco Chapter, and president of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Toastmasters Club. Igor is the Bay Area regional director of the California Young Democrats, elected Delegate and Legislative Committee appointee in the California Democratic Party, and associate member of the Alameda County Democratic Party. He helped create the Rent Board Internship and in September 2011 he organized the Bay Area Foreclosure Prevention and Resources Workshop, which received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Igor is also the former chair of the Berkeley Commission on Labor, through which he led the passage of the City of Berkeley’s Sweatfree Procurement Ordinance. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 2008 with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Political Science and has taken preparatory coursework towards an MS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
