GOTV House Meeting & Debate Watch: October 19th

California faces serious challenges--but this November we also have a big opportunity.  With 17 propositions on the ballot, and many more local measures, we have a chance to impact the most important issues we face, from funding public education to reforming systems of mass incarceration that are harming our communities.

To that end, Bend the Arc is hosting 2 house meetings to engage new Jewish activists this election cycle to support many of these initiatives and get out the vote!

Confronting the System: A Night of Action for Juvenile Justice

Each year, 225,000 Californian youth are arrested and exposed to the state's criminal justice system. These young people are routinely tried and treated as adults, or subjected to room confinement, also known as solitary confinement. This year, we have a chance to reform these damaging practices and increase protections for young people in juvenile prisons.

Starting with Ourselves: A Jewish Open Space for Anti-Racism

The Bend the Arc Racial Justice team invites you to participate in an informal gathering, or "open space".

Often many of us feel we lack the language, support system, or knowledge to do or support anti-racist work. This gathering will be a supportive space to explore experiences and assumptions in the service of ending racism. Come ready to engage in thoughtful and thought-provoking conversations. All questions, concerns, levels of understanding, and connections with Judaism are welcome!
