Why Immigration is a Jewish Issue

The story of American Jews is the story of immigration. Many of us have grown up with a defining family immigration story, most often rooted in the late 19th or early 20th Century, hundreds of years earlier for some, decades later for others. Because we understand what it means to be strangers in a new land, and because justice is a core principle in Jewish tradition, we believe Jews must press for a just and fair immigration system.
