ATL Jews Building a Multi-Racial Democracy: A Community Conversation

Description

*PLEASE NOTE* This event has been rescheduled from it's original date, 7/9, to 7/23. If you RSVPd before 7/9, you do not need to do anything, as your registration has been updated. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

Big news: Atlanta’s own Moral Minyan — a local organizing group of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action — is starting up again! Join us as we organize to stand in solidarity with Black lives, including Black Jews.

At this (virtual!) event, in collaboration with Jews of Color from the Southern region of the U.S., we will discuss the history of racism and police brutality, our own racial identities as Jewish Atlantans, and our role in the fight for racial justice in our city.  We’ve seen up close in the last month the power of protest and that our city and nation have a long way to go. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn about Bend the Arc: Jewish Action in Atlanta, hear about ways to get involved in the organizing, and build community with other progressive Jews. We’ll finish the evening with a collective action to stand up for Black lives.

As Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Atlanta, we know Black Lives Matter is a Jewish value. Our work is just beginning. We look forward to connecting with you in the coming weeks and months to defend Black lives and to create a multi-racial democracy where we are all free and safe.
