Understanding Replacement Theory: National Jewish Community Call

Description

On Saturday, a white nationalist drove to Buffalo, NY with the intention of murdering Black people, killing ten and injuring more. This shooting is yet another manifestation of a dangerous ideology that connects this tragedy in Buffalo to the murders of Jewish people in Pittsburgh and Poway, Latinx people in El Paso, and Muslim people in Christchurch.

Join Bend the Arc for a national Jewish community call on Thursday at 8pm ET / 5pm PT to make meaning of this moment and learn together. On the call, we’ll discuss the history and context of the “great replacement” conspiracy theory to better understand the connections between antisemitism, anti-Blackness, anti-Muslim, and anti-immigrant ideologies — and how we must respond in solidarity. RSVP to join us on Thursday evening.

Event program and speakers will be announced shortly; check back soon for more details.
