National Teach-In: The Jewish history of rejecting bigotry at the polls

Description

On June 21, 1964, voting rights activists James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner — an African American Christian and two white Jews — were murdered by the KKK for registering and educating African American voters in Mississippi.

To honor their activism and continue their legacy, Bend the Arc is organizing a national day of canvassing on June 24. But before we hit the streets, we’re hosting a national livestream to learn, build community, and prepare for action together with special guests:

  • David Goodman, Andrew Goodman’s brother
  • Yavilah McCoy, racial justice trainer and activist
  • Stosh Cotler, Bend the Arc CEO

This livestream is part of Bend the Arc’s campaign to Interrupt Trump by replacing his enablers in Congress in the November 2018 midterm elections.
