On December 16th, 2022, Jaylin McKenzie was visiting family in Memphis Tennessee when he was killed by police during a traffic stop.
It has been more than six months and Jaylin’s family and the public have still not been given the full details of what happened during that traffic stop, including video footage. What we do know is that Jaylin should have made it home safely that night and he did not.
This is an all too familiar story and we are joining Jaylin's family to demand transparency and justice. Our faiths teach us that it is our duty to protect one another. State violence is not public safety.
