Right now, Congress is debating whether to send billions more dollars to the agencies that separate, detain, and deport our immigrant family and militarize border communities. At the same time, MAGA Republicans are also trying to push through their wishlist of xenophobic, anti-immigrant policies.
Twice in two months, our movements won big: Bend the Arc and our partners in the Defund Hate coalition helped block billions of dollars for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). And a shutdown was averted twice.
Now we must keep up the pressure — $7.8 billion is still on the table for CBP and ICE, and Congress is still considering whether to grant these agencies this funding. Our members of Congress need to hear from us now.
