The Senate Parliamentarian — an unelected advisor for the Senate — ruled against initial proposals for a pathway to citizenship in the reconciliation process. This process is complicated but our purpose is clear: we can still win citizenship for millions of immigrants who live in fear of deportation, detention, and family separation.
We are not deterred and Democrats have the power to deliver. Majority Leader Schumer and Democrats in Congress have promised to move forward with an alternate approach to pass a pathway to citizenship this year and our movement will hold them to that promise. This is a critical moment for our members of Congress to hear a powerful wave of Jewish voices demanding they fight harder than ever for a pathway to citizenship.
We elected President Biden and helped win Democratic majorities in the House and Senate for this moment. We won’t take no as an answer.
