Add your name telling Maryland Senators to reject President Biden's supplemental funding request. Say NO to more funding for ICE and CBP and other anti-immigrant policy proposals as part of the Administration's supplemental funding request.
On Wednesday, the Senate voted on whether or not to approve a supplemental funding package which includes billions of our tax dollars for immigrant detention and border militarization through government agencies like ICE & CBP. While the vote failed, our Maryland Senators Cardin and Van Hollen both voted in support of this funding package. The Senate is also negotiating a proposal which could dismantle our asylum system, and be coupled with additional funding for inhumane enforcement that will endanger the lives and security of immigrants.

For months now, Bend the Arc and other organizations across the country have been raising our voices in opposition to this supplemental funding for the agencies that detain and deport immigrant families and harmfully militarize border communities. With our partners in the Defund Hate campaign and more than 190 organizations, we’ve opposed every iteration of this supplemental funding.
We cannot support granting billions of additional dollars for ICE & CBP, including unrestricted funding and funding to reinstate family detention by another name.
As Marylanders and Jewish constituents, we are coming together to urge Senators Cardin and Van Hollen to reject the supplemental funding request.
Immigration detention is inhumane, abusive and unjust. ICE and CBP are plagued with a culture of violence, racism, and well-documented patterns of systemic abuse.
Sign your name to tell Senators Cardin and Van Hollen to say NO to funneling billions more dollars to ICE and CBP, agencies which harm our immigrant communities.
