An interfaith vigil to show solidarity for the victims of the shootings at the mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Islamic Institute of Orange County (IIOC), 1220 N. State College Blvd. in Anaheim.
Along with IIOC, the Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA), Orange County Communities Organized for Responsible Development (OCCORD), the Arab American Civic Council, Indivisible OC 48 and March For Our Lives CA are among the sponsors of the vigil.
In a statement, CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush said:
“We invite everyone who is against evil and bigotry to stand with us in opposing this type of violence and the hate that motivates it. As we have stood to defend our fellow community members in the face of xenophobia and bigotry, we appreciate the support from our interfaith partners in supporting the Muslim community.”
