Orange County Jews Stand Up for the DREAM Act

Description

Please join us in Brea as we make our voices heard with the message that the people of California, including the Jewish community, support the Dreamers and can no longer wait for Congress to do what's right! We will meet at Brea Downtown in the plaza outside Ed Royce's congressional district office (near the "Orange Grove" art installation, and next to the LOFT store and Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen). After learning about the urgency of the situation and the reasons why Jewish history and values compel us to stand in solidarity, we will visit Royce's office in order to deliver a letter that requests his vote for a bill that provides justice for these fellow Americans without being accompanied by the White House's list of regressive and burdensome restrictions on legal immigration. Finally, we will have a visible presence, not only demonstrating our solidarity with immigrants, but also inspiring our fellow citizens who are appalled by this President's degrading of our values and eager for a change to become involved in the push to #TurnCongress180 in 2018.

All are welcome, regardless of background or experience in activism, and whether you are a constituent of the 39th District or live farther afield! We aim to assembly a committed group of Jews and their allies from every community to urge Congress to #LetMyPeopleStay and pass the DREAM Act without delay!

The Brea Downtown location is near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Brea Boulevard. Take the 57 freeway (accessible from the 210, 10, 60, 91 and 5 freeways) and exit onto Imperial Highway. Proceed west for one mile, turn right into Gateway Center (past Brea Boulevard) and park in the lots on the left or right.
