Taking a Moral Stand Against the Crisis of Mass Incarceration


A leader of criminal justice reform efforts in the Bay Area, Rabbi Mike Rothbaum went to Capitol Hill to advocate for humane sentencing reform and in the process delivered a stirring message on the moral necessity for immediate and tangible change to our “life-for-an-eye” justice system.

Income inequality is an economic crisis and a moral one. In 2016, Bend the Arc members, supporters and allies are working to help win minimum wage increases in states and cities where legislators or voters are deciding whether to pass a $15 minimum wage.

Voting Rights

After the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, a flurry of local efforts are preventing the young, the elderly and people of color from exercising their fundamental right. Bend the Arc is working with our allies to pass new legislation to protect the right to vote for all. We can fix this if we act together.

Criminal Justice Reform in California

Our leaders in California worked tirelessly to win passage of Prop. 47, a landmark reform of our broken criminal justice system which will fund more schools (and fewer prisons) and protect thousands from unjust sentencing laws.
