I am a social worker in an adult medical daycare program in New Jersey. I serve approximately 60 clients, all of whom are elderly Medicaid beneficiaries and many of whom are SNAP (Food Stamps) recipients. For any of these people, losing Medicaid coverage or/and SNAP benefits would be calamitous. Moreover, if a sizeable portion of this group loses their Medicaid, which covers the operational costs of the program, the entire program could collapse. And, incidentally, in the event of that outcome, i would be out of a job.
