[Video] Historic action: Muslims and Jews for Dreamers

Yesterday, Jews from across the country participated in another historic action for Dreamers at the Capitol:

On the day of the cruel deadline Trump set for Dreamers’ protections to expire, over a dozen Jewish and Muslim faith and community leaders were arrested for civil disobedience outside Speaker Paul Ryan’s office demanding a Dream Act.

At the same time, nearly 100 brave immigrant youth and allies (including Jews for Dreamers!) from across the country put their bodies on the line in the streets of DC.

This is what Muslim-Jewish-immigrant solidarity looks like:

Our message to the Dreamers: We are with you today and we will be with you as long as it takes.

Our message to Congress: The vast majority of Americans — including Jews and Muslims — demand immediate action to protect Dreamers without hurting their families, and we will hold you accountable for your failure.

Can you help us keep up the fight to support and protect Dreamers?

Chip in $18 (or whatever you can give) to help us continue to mobilize American Jews for Dreamers.

We know that all of us — Muslims, Jews and immigrants — are bound up together in a shared struggle against a white supremacist movement that has been re-energized by this White House. Just weeks ago, the lead government agency that grants citizenship to immigrants, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, removed “nation of immigrants” from its mission statement.1

As Imam Omar Suleiman said yesterday, “We must recognize that the white supremacy that threatens the black and Latino communities, is the same white supremacy that spurs Islamophobia and antisemitism.”

Together we are shaping a Jewish Resistance that takes bold action, operates in solidarity, and strikes at the roots of the bigotry emerging in this dangerous moment in history.

Right now, Congress is debating the spending bill that will pass at the end of this month. They have a choice: Support Trump’s plan to spend billions of dollars for more ICE agents and deadly immigration jails, or protect Dreamers and their families.

We are in a fight for the soul of our country, and we must keep it up.

We need your donation to resist: Make your gift today to help demand protections for immigrant youth.

With gratitude,

Stosh Cotler
Chief Executive Officer
