As a father, I feel physically ill when I imagine my 2 year old daughter — or any 2 year old — locked away in a detention camp, alone.
So we ask the question: “What can we do?”
We ask because we know that even when few are guilty, all are responsible. We ask because terrible things touched the lives of so many of our ancestors, and we know we must not be silent now.

These gatherings in July will convene Jewish community leaders and activists from across the country for two days of skill-building in direct action — planning, execution, and follow-up. Costs are low, and childcare is available. Jews of Color are particularly encouraged to apply.

The trainings will accommodate a wide range of experiences with direct action, from beginners to seasoned pros who are looking for a Jewish context to refresh their skills. Participants will work with staff organizers and grassroots leaders in our field program to develop plans for public escalation to hold the Trump administration accountable for crimes against humanity.
When Bend the Arc led 82 Jewish activists in civil disobedience for Dreamers in January, we saw that Americans listen when Jewish people remind the public of what is at stake with rising authoritarianism. If you are like me and feeling the need to do more, let's do more together.
A clear, public escalation of tactics, led by Jewish people in consultation with our partners in the immigrant rights movement, is part of the path to stopping this administration.
