“The details of this most recent Senate proposal may have changed — and of course may yet change again — but its fundamental outcome remains: to devastate the well-being of low-income Americans, children, the elderly and people with disabilities, and their families. Senators who support this legislation will be knowingly and unnecessarily taking away health care from millions who desperately need it and increasing the financial burden of health care for tens of millions more.           

This bill is a moral, economic and political disaster that would not only undo the transformative accomplishments of the Affordable Care Act and decimate Medicaid, but also make the existing problems in our health care system even worse. It’s no surprise that Republicans have sought to keep this bill secret for as long as possible and vote on it before the American people can fully learn all of its devastating consequences — no rational person would support this bill. We will continue to mobilize American Jews across the country to hold their members of Congress accountable for enabling Trump’s immoral agenda.”
