Why we're supporting Summer Lee (and how you can help!)

April 12, 2024

Can you phonebank with us on Wednesday, April 17 to get out the vote for Summer Lee before her primary? There’s just a few days left to make an impact, and you can join from anywhere!

There are a few key races this year where the Jewish vote will make a difference in that local race and also in which party controls the White House and Congress.

Rep. Summer Lee’s re-election race for PA-12 is one of these races — but Republican mega-donors are flooding her primary to try to knock her off the Democratic ticket.

In 2022, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Pittsburgh helped Summer Lee win her primary and become the first Black woman elected to the House in Pennsylvania. Because this is a race with consequences for all of us, we’re inviting all Bend the Arc supporters — including you! — to volunteer and help Rep. Lee win her April 23 primary.

Can you join us to phonebank for Rep. Summer Lee on Wednesday, April 17? You can join from anywhere!

Rep. Summer Lee has been a consistent champion for our domestic priorities, including fighting antisemitism and all forms of bigotry in our country. And in just one year, she helped deliver one billion dollars for PA-12 — strengthening affordable housing, green jobs, local food and transportation systems, protections from lead, and more.

As our leaders in Pittsburgh write:

“Many of us have known and worked closely alongside Summer Lee since 2018 — we know that she shows up, answers our calls, and listens to our needs. She is willing to be at the table, have difficult conversations, and stay in the relationships we need to build a progressive Pittsburgh.”

Let’s help Rep. Summer Lee win her primary election. RSVP here to join us from anywhere on Wednesday, April 17 to help get out the vote for Summer.

In solidarity,
The Bend the Arc team

P.S. Can’t join us on Wednesday? Donate here to power our 2024 election work in critical races around the country. And, keep an eye out for more information coming soon about other ways to get involved in Bend the Arc’s election work.
