On Saturday, September 6, we are joining We Are All DC, a national march to demand an immediate withdrawal of federal troops from the District. Join us before the march for a Jewish meetup and Shabbat morning service organized by our partners at Jews United for Justice. If it is within your practice, feel free to bring a tallit to wear as a symbol of our Jewish presence and the Jewish values that compel us to act.
We will meet at 10:30am at the Joan of Arc Equestrian Statue at Malcolm X/Meridian Hill Park. We will be wearing white Bend the Arc t-shirts. Following the service, we will join the march together.
We know that for some people, taking action on Shabbat is part of their Jewish practice while others are unable to do so. Please do whatever feels correct for you within your Jewish practice. If you can’t make it on September 6th, we’ll be glad to see you at another event soon!
