Jeremiah Fellowship applications are open

Jeremiah Fellowship applications are open

April 15, 2021

Applications are NOW OPEN in 25 cities
The 2021 - 2022 Jeremiah Fellowship

We’re looking for the next generation of Jewish leaders who are ready to mobilize their communities to win progressive change.

Apply today or recommend someone who would be a great fit.

You can get all the details at our upcoming info session on Tuesday, May 4.

After four years of fear and division, and four hundred years of injustice, now is the time to deepen our organizing in communities across the country to build a new future together. What we do now will determine the future.

That’s why Bend the Arc is investing in the next generation of Jewish leaders through the Jeremiah Fellowship — an organizing and leadership development program for young Jewish adults, age 22-32, in cities around the country.

Starting today, applications are open for the 2021- 2022 cohort of the Jeremiah Fellowship — and we need your help to spread the word.

Want to connect with staff and alums to learn more? RSVP to join us for a Jeremiah Fellowship Info session on Tuesday, May 4th at 7:00pm ET/ 4:00pm PT.

Applications close July 1, 2021.

Where is the Jeremiah Fellowship?

In 2021, the Jeremiah Fellowship is recruiting from 25 cities around the country:

2021 Jeremiah Fellowship cities:
Atlanta, GA | Austin, TX | Bay Area, CA | Cincinnati, OH | Cleveland, OH | Denver, CO | Ann Arbor, MI | Jacksonville, FL | Long Island, NY | Louisville, KY | Memphis, TN | Milwaukee, WI | New Mexico, NM | New Orleans, LA | Pittsburgh, PA | Portland, OR | Prince George's County, MD | Riverdale, NY | San Luis Obispo, CA | Seattle, WA | Southeastern Pennsylvania, PA | South Bay, CA | South Florida, FL | South Jersey, NJ | Southern California, CA

What do Jeremiah fellows do?

Through the fellowship, participants will gain community organizing skills, experience building power in their communities, develop a deep political analysis, and join a network of leaders across the country.

In 2020, Jeremiah fellows put these skills to work organizing their communities on crucial issues, including:

  • Shutting down detention centers,
  • Defunding the police,
  • Supporting the Movement for Black Lives,
  • Winning budgets that invest in Black, brown, poor, and middle class residents,
  • And so much more.

Fellows spoke at city council hearings, organized events and protests, and found creative approaches to educate their communities — like this gorgeous zine made by Jeremiah fellows in Louisville:

Help recruit the next generation of Jewish leaders

We know that now is the time to deepen our organizing in communities across the country to build a new future together.

You can help build the next generation of progressive Jewish leaders by spreading the word about the Jeremiah Fellowship (forward this email widely!) and recommending anyone you know who would be a good fit.

Finding our 2021 Jeremiah fellows is a big and exciting task. We can’t do it without your help.

With gratitude,

Carrie Sterns
Jeremiah Fellowship National Director
