WASHINGTON, D.C. – Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, the first and only national Jewish organization dedicated to fighting for a progressive domestic agenda, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’s candidacy for U.S. President today. The following statement can be attributed to Bend the Arc CEO Jamie Beran:
“We are proud to support the historic candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. We’re endorsing Kamala Harris for President because she shares our vision of a joyful future where all of us are safe and thriving — the exact opposite of Trump and his dangerous Project 2025 agenda. In just a few days, Harris has already reignited hope in the hearts of millions, and we are confident that she can lead us into a future of freedom and opportunity for all Americans.
Harris has shown a commitment to building our democracy and to fighting to preserve and expand our freedoms — whether it’s protecting reproductive rights, making communities safer, or investing into the care economy.
Harris has also demonstrated a nuanced approach to the issues that matter to Jewish voters. In collaboration with Bend the Arc and our partners, she and Second Gentleman Emhoff have supported the development of the White House’s strategy to combat antisemitism, and Harris was the first in the administration to publicly call for a ceasefire in Gaza. She knows that fights against antisemitism, white supremacy, and racism are inextricably linked, and it takes solidarity across race, faith, gender, and ability to build power and dismantle these destructive forces.
The Trump campaign is already running the most openly racist and antisemitic campaign in recent memory — and they’ve made no attempt to hide it since Harris became the Democratic nominee. It will take all of us to defeat Trump and elect leaders who will fight for us, our freedoms, and our safety in Washington. Kamala Harris has what it takes.
With our endorsement, we’re throwing our movement’s strength behind Kamala Harris and contributing crucial resources to power her to victory. In 2020, we ran the largest Jewish grassroots campaign in the nation — and we won. We are excited to activate our base again this year and build a multiracial, multi-faith movement to fight fascism and build a future where all of us are free.”
