New York – Following the decision by Republican lawmakers to cancel a scheduled vote on the American Health Care Act, Stosh Cotler, CEO of Bend the Arc Jewish Action, released the following statement:

“The cancellation of this vote is a victory for all Americans and for our fundamental Jewish values. The American Health Care Act would devastate our nation’s health care system and threaten the wellbeing of our society’s most vulnerable members, including the poor, the elderly, the disabled and children. The failure to pass Trumpcare also demonstrates the power of the resistance that organized across the country to oppose and defeat the radical, dangerous, and cruel agenda of President Trump and the Republican Party.

Despite this victory, we must remain vigilant as Republicans plan the next stage of their assault on health care and pursue other destructive policies. We urge members of Congress to continue standing firm in their opposition to this dangerous, un-American legislation.”
