New York – Following the Supreme Court’s order reviving the Trump administration’s ban on transgender people serving in the U.S. military, Ginna Green, chief strategy officer of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, released the following statement:

“We are sickened by the Court's decision to allow the Trump administration’s attack on transgender service members to move forward, even as lower courts continue to hear arguments.

“We hope lower courts will call this policy what it is: an unconstitutional and bigoted assault on the civil rights of transgender Americans. As Jews, we recognize when the true goal of a policy is to discriminate and exclude. We will continue to follow the leadership of our transgender family as we fight together for everyone to have the ability to exercise the same civil and human rights.

“We will not be silent as the extreme worldview of Trump, Pence, and the GOP threatens the LGBTQ community, and we will keep advocating for Congress and the judiciary to check the hatred of this President and his administration.”
