Last week American Jews showed up powerfully with our immigration, faith, and labor partners at one of the biggest May Days in recent history — and for many people, their first May Day!1
I was at the rally in D.C., where 5,000 people joined Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s wife in calling for his return after being disappeared by the Trump administration. The energy from our collective voices was energizing and inspiring.
But we know our work doesn’t end on May Day. Trump’s deportations are increasing: last week in Florida, over 1,000 people were arrested in a six-day immigration sweep — a model the administration plans to implement throughout the country.2
We have two upcoming opportunities to gather for political education and action-planning to meet this political moment:
Deceptive & Dangerous: What is the Antisemitism Awareness Act?
Wednesday, May 7 at 7:30pm ET on Zoom
Welcome to Bend the Arc: Immigration, Antisemitism, and Safety for All of Us
Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00pm ET on Zoom
On these calls, you’ll learn more about our work to dismantle antisemitism, protect our immigrant neighbors, and defeat Trump’s authoritarianism. I hope to see you there.
In solidarity,
Hannah Klein
Immigration Campaign Manager, Bend the Arc
