"Get in good trouble, necessary trouble,
and help redeem the soul of America."
— Congressman John Lewis (z"l, may his memory be a blessing)
American history teaches us that when voting rights are under attack, following Black leadership strengthens our democracy for all.
One such leader was John Lewis, one of the most courageous activists produced by the Civil Rights movement.

This month, six years after his passing, we’re celebrating John Lewis’ legacy and advancing his fight by joining the Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action, July 17-19.
Bend the Arc will be there — will you? Check out the map of Good Trouble Lives On events.

If you live near a Bend the Arc chapter, stay tuned for details about gathering locally
True power is built in our neighborhoods. It’s a lesson we learned from civil rights leaders, and it’s how we are going to win the fight against the Trump regime and their authoritarian agenda.
To remember John Lewis and join neighbors to protect our voting rights, the Good Trouble Lives On events will TEACH! REACH! PREACH!:
- Teaching is learning together about our history, rights, and the power of civic participation
- Reaching is neighbors building trusted relationships through meaningful outreach
- Preaching is interfaith clergy and people of faith uniting to spread a message of hope, justice, and collective responsibility
We’ll see you out there!
In solidarity,
The Bend the Arc team
