45 million impressions to defeat white nationalism

Here’s look back at our community’s work in 2020 — as seen through a year of tweets 🐦

It’s hard to capture everything that happened this year in one email. So we’ve found 10 of our favorite tweets from the year to tell the story of how we rose up together — against all odds — to win a new future for all of us. Scroll down for this unique snapshot of a… unique year.

Donate $18 today to power our movement forward in the next chapter, as we work to continue to remove white nationalism from the halls of power, undo the damage of the last four years, and confront the truth of the last 400 years.

Here’s the story of our community’s work in 2020 through tweets:

We polled Jewish voters to confirm our community’s overwhelming priority of defeating Trump — and holding him accountable for increases in antisemitism and racism. And then we launched our We Rise As One campaign to mobilize Jews across the country to remove white nationalism from the White House and build a country truly for all of us.

Less than two months into the pandemic we created a powerful virtual conference for over 1,000 activists, organizers, leaders, and anyone grounding their work in Jewish values — bringing together our community for two days of learning, connecting, and mobilizing for the work ahead.

We showed up alongside the Movement for Black Lives declaring that our multiracial Jewish community proudly supports the fight for Black liberation and will continue to fight for justice until all of us are truly safe and free.

We called out politicians campaigning on white nationalism and using antisemitism to manufacture fear and division — whether in the White House, Congress, or on the campaign trail. Our work pressured Facebook to take down Trump ads for violating their policy on “organized hate” — for the first time.

Our work to remove white nationalism from the halls of power angered Republican leaders — even leading some to attack us with antisemitic rhetoric.

The stakes this year couldn’t have been higher.

We mobilized our community like never before to fight for the future of our country. Together, Bend the Arc volunteers sent nearly 5 million calls and texts to voters in six critical swing states — flipping three states, two Senate seats, and one House seat.

We created powerful videos that helped activate Jewish voters ahead of the most critical election of our lifetime.

And, two years after the Tree of Life shooting — and days before the most important election of our lifetime — our community came together for a National Solidarity Gathering. Together, we mourned the lives we lost and committed to rising up in solidarity to fight white nationalism and build a country that’s truly for all of us.

This year was full of great personal, communal, and societal challenges.

But it was also full of victory, hope, and celebration.

Supporters like you have made this year’s victories possible. We couldn’t do it without you, and we’re so glad you’ll be with us in the next chapter as we approach the urgent work of repairing the past four years of damage to our communities and democracy. Make a gift of $18 today to celebrate this year’s wins, and power our movement forward in the next chapter.

With gratitude,

The Bend the Arc team
