Last year, we won the opportunity to build a new future.
Last night, we came together to mark this moment and plan for what’s ahead.
Read below for highlights (including our surprise guest!) and donate to power Jewish organizing in 2021.
Last night we came together to lift our spirits and enter a new era we’ve made possible — just like the parsha (Torah portion) of this week, which recounts the moment our ancestors left Egypt behind.
As Sabrina Sojourner, shaliakh tzibur (spiritual leader) and our host for the evening shared:
And, as one special guest reminded us, we now have a President, Senate, and House of Representatives that are ready to work with our movements for healing and transformation:
With Bend the Arc, you’ve been part of a powerful Jewish resistance to fascism in America and together we made the impossible possible when we removed Trump from the White House in 2020. Now we’re ready to take Rep. Porter and her colleagues up on their offer and to win generational change.
Last night we also got to hear directly from two leaders of Bend the Arc’s Atlanta moral minyan — Victoria and Palmer — on how Jewish activists in Georgia and across the country contributed to this historic moment.
What’s next? We’ll work together to repair the damage of these last four years, to confront the truth of the last 400 years, and to build an inclusive multiracial democracy where fascism and demagoguery can never again take root.
Your donation to our 2021 work will go directly to Bend the Arc’s organizing to remove white nationalism from the halls of power, to expand Covid relief, to secure permanent protections for immigrants, and more.
President Biden’s executive orders yesterday are a demonstration of the power of our movements to win big change, but they’re just the beginning.
We’re so excited for everything we get to do together this year and beyond. Thank you for being a part of this movement.
