Our plan to #CloseTheCamps needs you

July 16, 2019

We are in a moment when people are rising up to demand change — like when the movement for Black lives formed after Ferguson, or when students organized to end gun violence after Parkland.

American Jews who recognize the evils of families in cages are rising up alongside immigrant communities to challenge Trump’s authoritarianism and cruelty.

Our ability to make an impact depends on sustaining our resistance. Bend the Arc has a plan to help win systemic change by keeping the drumbeat going through the High Holidays, when Congress will vote on funding levels for ICE and CBP. But now, we must use this moment to build the public pressure to close the camps and end the raids.

[Facebook Live] Jewish Call for Action Now
Thursday, July 18th
8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT
with Ginna Green, Chief Strategy Officer at Bend the Arc,
and Greisa Martinez Rosas, Deputy Executive Director at United We Dream

Our friends at United We Dream have asked us to help keep up the momentum that has been building for the last few weeks, and we are inviting you to a Facebook Live to learn how to do just that.

  • Hear from United We Dream on why we still need action now
  • Learn from Bend the Arc trainers and organizers how to put on a meaningful action, whether you’re a seasoned activist or new to the fight
  • Be inspired and energized to mobilize at the moment when the movement needs you most

Our immigrant justice partners want us to keep up the pressure. We are organizing this Facebook Live to arm you with the tools you need to take the action you can.

If you’ve been wondering, “What can I do right now?,” join us on Thursday to learn more.

Over the weekend, immigrants across the country were terrified to leave their homes because of Trump’s raids.1

Right now, many of us can use our privilege as citizens to build a welcoming multiracial democracy where no one has to live in the shadows, or in cages.

As Jews, we’ve seen this before. And we cannot be silent now.
