A screenshot of friendly faces from a Jews for Free Speech phonebank
“I can’t wait to do it again.” That’s what volunteers are saying after our second Jews for Free Speech phonebank.
We’ve had nearly 300 conversations with Jews in New Jersey about upcoming legislation that claims to fight antisemitism but actually endangers free speech for all of us.
The New Jersey bill we’re fighting will likely come up for a vote this fall, so calls are needed right now. (You can learn more about the NJ bill in our latest blogpost, "My fight to stop IHRA as a Jew in New Jersey.")
Many haven't heard about the legislation, but when we tell them, they are moved to take action.
One call I’m especially excited about was with a rabbi who doesn’t agree with us, but was so moved by the conversation that she asked for Bend the Arc to come speak to her congregation about it!
We're making a difference, and it’s fun when we do it together. Here's what some people shared in our Zoom chat:
"This was a perfect experience. It didn't take long and it was easy."
"It’s a very intuitive platform."
"11 people said they want to volunteer!"
"I'm watching people use our tool to email their representatives!"
Sign up to join our next Jews for Free Speech phonebank on Monday, October 20th, 5:30pm ET.
The more people join us, the more critical calls we can make.
I hope to see you there,
Jillian Lipman
Antisemitism Campaign Manager, Bend the Arc
