Federal agents are swarming DC on Trump’s orders. Already, hundreds of people, mostly Black and brown immigrants, have been disappeared from their neighborhoods.
DC residents want federal forces out of DC now.1
The good news: Our champions Rep. Jamie Raskin and Sen. Chris Van Hollen have introduced a joint resolution to terminate Trump’s fascist takeover of Washington, DC.
But because DC doesn’t have equal representation in Congress, we need our allies like you across the country to step up now.
As Jews, we know how dangerous it is when authoritarians use the military and disinformation to take over communities. This is something that no democracy should ever allow.
If Trump can take over DC without pushback from Congress, none of our cities are safe. That’s why it’s so important that we all raise our voices to stand up for Washington, DC.
DC is home to 700,000 people including families, children, seniors, workers, and people of every age, race, ability, and faith. These communities are joyful, powerful, and they deserve dignity — not police brutality.
