Israeli and Palestinian families are finally reunited

October 15, 2025

After Sukkot, our offices reopen tomorrow to new and long overdue realities.

The reality of Israeli and Palestinian families reunited.

The reality that this is too late for too many but that each Israeli and each Palestinian returned to their homes and to the arms of their loved ones is a universe.

The reality of so many Palestinian children having slept, finally, not to the sound of bombs and drones, but to the breathing of their siblings and their parents.

The reality for the Israelis who have been in the streets for months and months, begging for their government to prioritize the return of their hostages over more killing, finally having some closure.

The reality that this moment is so fragile, as the world monitors reports of challenges to the ceasefire by the Israeli government with continued killings, including a journalist, and as Hamas still holds the bodies of some hostages.

And the reality that it is not yet peace nor justice for many, not even most. But it is the respite needed to build peace and justice upon.

We urge those in the White House and in Congress to turn this fragile moment into a lasting foundation where all Palestinians and Israelis can live safely, in self determination, and with liberty.
