This weekend, my op-ed with NYC Comptroller Brad Lander hit a readership of 2 million New Yorkers, including our Jewish communities.
Brad and I reflect on how the incoming mayor has his work cut out for him, delivering an affordable agenda and demonstrating how cities can stand up to Trump.
And how for Jewish communities, we face a different huge challenge: healing the divisions that this race exposed.
Brad and I share the same view: To ensure safety for all of us, we must protect our democracy. To protect our democracy, we must stay in coalition. To stay in coalition, we must lead with our shared humanity and shared goals.
To help us do this work, I’m leading a training this Sunday with antisemitism messaging expert Sharon Goldtzvik — to share new messaging guidance and tools to help bridge our communities back together.
We must continue to hold coalitions together — even in discomfort — to keep one another safe.
As Brad and I share in our op-ed, with Congress, the Supreme Court, and the White House all in frighteningly right-wing hands, our coalition is our last resort. But take comfort, because it is also our most powerful.
In solidarity,
